Q. DO I NEED A CUSTOM FIT BRACE ?
A. No amount of custom molding will permit proper fit if a brace is
too stiff. If the brace cannot conform to the changing muscles in
your leg, it will only fit when the leg is in the same condition as
when molded. The deviation between the moving leg and the brace can
be considerable. If the brace design is too stiff, custom molding
may not be the answer. We do not purchase custom made shoes. We buy
them off-the-shelf. Modern technology allows us to fit the majority
of people with off-the-shelf braces. Our experience has shown that
more than 90% of patients can be fitted comfortably off-the-shelf.
Q. WHY DO I NEED A KNEE BRACE ?
A. Knee braces are meant to provide the user with a level of
protection for both healthy & pre-injured knees. The anterior
cruciate ligament (ACL) is the most commonly injured knee ligament.
The ACL controls how far forward the tibia moves in relation to the
femur and if the tibia moves too far the ACL can tear. The ACL is
also the first ligament that becomes tight when the knee is straight
so if the knee is forced past this point, or hyperextended, the ACL
can also become torn. The ACL is often injured during high action
sports such as motocross. Many injuries can occur when athletes
suffer direct blows, lateral impacts or hyperextension while not
using protective knee braces.
Q. WHAT DOES A KNEE BRACE DO ?
A. Most knee braces can provide athletes with both functional and
lateral support, in addition to frontal impact protection. With the
use of hyperextension locking hinges knee braces can assist in
decreasing the chances of ACL injuries. See "why do I need a knee

Q. IS THERE ONE SIZE BRACE THAT FITS EVERYONE ?
A. NO......most EVS knee braces and protective gear is sized to
insure athletes a more accurate custom fit while using a size range
of XXS - XXXXL. Check sizing chart to assure proper fit and finding
appropriate sizing.
Q. ARE EVS KNEE BRACES COVERED BY MY INSURANCE PLAN ?
A. Insurance companies reimburse for medical knee braces, which
require a physician's prescription. EVS knee braces are designed as
a piece of protective gear for injury prevention. Please contact
your insurance provider along with your physician for detailed
coverage information.
Q. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE I NEED ?
A. To insure proper fitment on EVS knee braces, circumference
measurements should be taken directly against the skin with your leg
straight. Use a soft tape measure if at all possible. If you do not
have access to a soft tape measure, use a piece of string, rope or
yarn and then measure that with a regular ruler or tape measure. See

Q. WHAT DOES THE SB02 SHOULDER BRACE DO ?
A. Our shoulder brace is designed to add compression to the shoulder
joint by grabbing your bi-cep and pulling it up and into the rotator
cuff. There are no hard parts (plastic or aluminum) and in fact, the
brace is not intended to protect against impact. However, as anyone
with a troubled shoulder will agree, it is the small jolts & jiggles
that can cause the greatest amount of discomfort. Our shoulder brace
is a must have item for athletes with shoulder issues.
Q. DOES EVS SPONSOR RIDERS ?
A. Yes, EVS has an active rider support program that reviews
thousands of resumes each year. Our next sponsorship season starts
Jan. 1, 2003, with all resumes being due no later than Nov. 30th
2002. All EVS Riders are required to have at least one EVS logo
sticker on their bike and helmet at all times.
Q. WHAT DOES EVS LOOK FOR IN A SPONSORED RIDER ?
A. EVS looks for athletes who have a true passion for their sport.
We are looking for riders that will represent EVS with class and
style. Attitude, Effort and Loyalty are much more important than
year end results.
Q. WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN AN ANKLE BRACE ?
A. Ankle supports and braces are available in many types. The
simplest supports are the elastic wraps, a neoprene wrap or pull on
sleeve like the AS06 & AS14. These provide compression and warmth,
and in some cases permit the athlete to walk without crutches for
very mild sprains. More elaborate ankle supports with plates to add
stiffness are also available. Like the AB04, lace-up type ankle
supports with rigid supports are great for mild to severe sprains.
Each of the EVS braces are made to wear while enjoying your sports &
activities.
Q. IS THE EVS BALLISTIC JERSEY MEANT TO BE WORN UNDER OR OVER YOU
JERSEY ?
A. Our Ballistic Jersey can be worn both under your riding jersey as
well as on top. This question is better answered by each individual
owner as comfort plays a huge factor. No matter which way you wear
it, you will have the ultimate in upper body protection.
Q. CAN I GET REPLACEMENT PARTS & ACCESSORIES FOR EVS KNEE BRACES
?
A. Yes, replacement parts are available for many of the EVS knee
braces. The most common accessories like knee cups and strap
extensions can be purchased directly from EVS or your local dealer.
Q. CAN I USE MY BRACES IN THE WATER ?
A. Yes, all EVS braces are non-corrosive and will function in most
water application. If you wish to use our products in salt water, be
sure to rinse the brace and its components after each us to remove
any salt or debris that may remain.
Q. HOW DO I CARE FOR MAY EVS PRODUCTS ?
A. All EVS products can stand up to good washing but you may want to
check with the manufacturer of your washing machine. Some EVS
products have hardware in them that could damage your washing
machine. If you are unsure, simply spray the product down with a
milt cleaner and hose it off outside.
Q. HOW DO I CARE FOR MAY EVS PRODUCTS ?
A. All EVS products can stand up to good washing but you may want to
check with the manufacturer of your washing machine. Some EVS
products have hardware in them that could damage your washing
machine. If you are unsure, simply spray the product down with a
milt cleaner and hose it off outside.
