Troy Lee Designs 2008 D2 Composite Peat BMX Racing Helmets
|
One of the strongest helmets in bicycling today, the D2 Composite
helmet is made of 50% fiberglass, 20% arimid, and for added
reinforcement, 30% carbon.
D2 Helmets:
Formula 1-like aerodynamics and ingenious technical features put the
D2 helmets among the most advanced helmets in all of bicycle racing.
Engineered for the dramatically different disciplines of mountain
bike, downhill, BMX boarder-X and other extreme bike sports, the
highly protective and stylish D2 is also worn into battle by many
NASCAR pit crews including the championship-caliber #24 Team DuPont,
and #20 Team Home Depot outfits.
All D2 helmets are created by using aerospace technology. A
multi-layer construction process, pre-preg materials and a high
pressure curing technology are all called into action to create the
industry's premier helmet.
The D2's flow-through ventilation system includes four intake and
exhaust ports that work in unison to maximize cool air transfer over
the rider's head. A fully interchangeable, washable, MX-style padded
liner as well as a D-ring strapping system combine to create a
plush, custom fit. All D2 helmets come with a helmet bag, a fit-kit,
and an owner's manual. D2 helmets meet or exceed safety approval
rating requirements from CSPC, ASTM (BMX and downhill), and DE.

About Troy Lee Designs
Gear |
For over 20 years, I have been customizing helmets "For The
World's Fastest Racers." Our relentless commitment to creating products that
exceed the cutting edge style, design and quality, has given us the
reputation as an innovator in the Motorcycle, Bicycle, Indy Car, Formula One
and NASCAR racing fields.
Troy Lee Designs has since expanded into a full
force operation, offering a product line from helmet visors and graphics, to
casual wear and the all new Speed Equipment Racewear.
What started out as a motocross racing teenager named Troy Lee painting helmets in his parents garage for his buddies, has grown to become recognized as the premier custom helmet in the world, and is the place The Worlds Fastest Racers go when only the best
will do.
What began as an innocent trip to a sushi bar and a crazy idea, turned into our Supermoto race team! Scott Russel and I were talking about it on the way to dinner one night and it sounded like fun. I called Jeremy and Wardy and we all headed off to Perris Raceway to give it a try We loved it!
My
marketing team worked hard to get the team together in record time, and we haven't stopped smiling since! Honda gave us bikes, Fun Bike Center came on board, Giant RV gave us a rig, Weekend Warrior built us a 26ft. race trailer, and Timex and PPG stepped up to support us.
I think that Supermoto
is the next big thing, and right now my team is developing new products for
the sport.
