For more than two decades, Eagle One has been a leader in the development
and manufacture of premium automotive appearance care products. The company
enjoys a reputation for quality and innovation,
especially among the most demanding enthusiasts.
Auto and motorcycle enthusiast Bernard Li founded Eagle One in 1978. The
company's first product was a two-step Wire Wheel Cleaning Kit that
revolutionized the wheel-care category. The
product became the foundation of the company's entry into the vehicle
appearance care market.
From 1978 to 1985, the company expanded its line with products such as Tire
Cleaner, Plastic Polish and Spot Remover. Additional wheel-care cleaners
such as Chrome & Wire, Aluminum Wash, Mag & Chrome and Mag Cleaner were also
introduced. Eagle One became the premier brand of wheel care cleaners
among enthusiasts.
Capitalizing on its brand name and popularity, the company expanded its line
to include waxes and polishes. With the addition
of these products, Eagle One had a full-line of premium appearance care
products.
The 1990's heralded the introduction of Eagle One's unique WET product line.
In 1992, the company introduced a unique polish called Visual Perfection.
This evolved into WET Polish & Wax which was an instant success. WET Paste
Wax, WET Car Wash, WET Wipe & Shine and WET Tire
Shine soon followed.
In 1998, the company began marketing a unique line of Scent Clips designed
to slide directly into a car's air vents. The line now includes aromatherapy
clips and a mirror clip that is placed on the post behind the rear-view
mirror.
In February of 1998, Eagle One was purchased by Valvoline, a division of
Ashland Inc. Eagle One appearance products perfectly complemented
Valvoline's line of automotive products and services including Valvoline
motor oil, Zerex antifreeze and Pyroil chemicals.
In the last few years Eagle One has added innovative products such as Wax
As-U-Dry, All Wheel & Tire Cleaner, Bucket-Free Car Wash and Tire Swipes.
All of these products are designed to make your car look great in less time.
Each year, Eagle One conducts the "Golden Rule" -- a nationwide competition
among car clubs. A club in the West, Midwest, East and South is honored for
the most outstanding community service program during the year. The winning
teams are awarded a custom-designed plaque and buckets of Eagle One
and Valvoline product. The award program is
designed to foster a greater public awareness of the outstanding work being
done by car clubs throughout the nation.
In 2000, Eagle One inaugurated the Eagle One-Shav Glick Award to honor the
motorsports editor of the Los Angeles Times. The
award is presented to a Californian for distinguished achievement in motor
racing. Past winners include Dan Gurney, Wally Parks (who founded the NHRA),
Parnelli Jones, Rick Mears, Les Richter and J.C. Agajanian. The award is
presented before more than 100,000 fans in ceremonies prior to the
NASCAR 500 at California Speedway in Fontana, Calif.
