| Sidi Men's 2008 Vertigo Corsa Air Motorcycle Street Boots Specifications |
Sport Rider Magazine: "The Sidi Vertigo Air boot is one of only two
boots we've ever tried in this magazine's history that actually
provides cooling airflow that you can feel while riding." The
Vertigo Corsa, Vertigo Corsa Air, Vertigo, Vertigo Air and Vertigo
Rain were created after an arduous 2+ year development period with
lofty goals in mind. The boots had to push the technology of the
sport road boot segment to an even higher level than the legendary
Vertebra series. They are designed to be the best, no matter the
cost. The Vertigo series of boots has achieved all that and much
more!
Sport Rider Magazine: "After a solid two months of daily use in
commuting and sport touring duties, we can honestly state that the
Sidi Vertigo Air boot is one of only two boots we've ever tried in
this magazine's history (the other being Kushitani's Cool boot,
which doesn't offer the same protective features as the Vertigo Air)
that actually provides cooling airflow that you can feel while
riding." Moto Euro Magazine: "The Vertigo Corsa Air boots posed no
problem at all in the 110-degree, 90-minute jaunt to the higher
elevations of the Mogollon Rim." Rider magazine: "We especially like
the wide range of adjustability the Corsa offers, along with its
great looks and many protective features." Motorcyclist magazine:
"The Vertigo is a comfortable assemblage of bright ideas that really
work. And once adjusted, you don't think about the Sidi's again
until its time to take them off. Form, in this case, is a direct
result of superior function." Robb Report magazine: "Step up to a
pair of the highest functioning racing and sport touring boots on
the market today."
Tecno VR System
The Vertigo series of boots are the only race boots to offer a
patented Tecno VR adjustable calf system designed to accommodate
calves of virtually any size in a clean, supportive and protective
design. With a simple adjustment of the Tecno knob the internal
onofilament line will evenly close and wrap the boot around the
riders calf in micro adjustments for a perfect fit. A maximum
adjustment of 5cm is provided.
Shock Absorbing Heel Cup
Three stage, shock absorbing heel cup molded in three different
densities of plastic is one element that sets the Vertigo series
apart from all other sport boots. This system offers a built in
shock absorbing range of 3mm. The heel cups internal area is also
fully lined with impact resistant thousand-air cell memory foam for
and extra level of comfort and protection.
Lining
Each Vertigo series boot is lined throughout with lightweight
perforated Teflon treated fabric in order to allow moisture to
"breath" out to the Lorica outer and dry quickly with no mold build
up in the long term. Additionally the inner ankle area of all
Vertigo series boots are flly lined with Sidi's own formula of
perforated closed thousand-air cell memory foam. A totally
breathable lining system.
Replaceable Shin Deflector and Scuff Pad
The Vertigo Series offers interchangeability with its front shin
guard and toe scuff pads. Choose from carbon or nylon shin piece,
and either a ceramic or nylon toe scuff.
Air Vent System
Both the Vertigo Corsa and Vertigo employ an air ventilation system
that can be opened or closed with a touch of a button depending upon
a riders needs.
Zipper Elastic
New elastic panels adjacent to the entry zipper allow a bind free
zip and improved fit.
Composite Inner Sole
The composite inner sole of Sidi boots resists side to side
compression offering greater protection compared to the leather
inner soles that our competitors use. The insole features a
removable arch support and will never lose its dynamic
characteristics, even after months of intense use; it is water
resistant and is designed to withstand high footpeg pressures.
Gear Change Pad
Gear change pad is molded of DuPont Techno-polymers, which ensure
that the plastics qualities will not change in high or low
temperatures.
Sole
A dual compound, lightweight, non-slip sole for maximum comfort and
safety.
Replaceable Parts
Every bolt on component of each Vertigo boot is available
separately. Riders can change the various components to replace
items that have worn or have been damaged in a crash.
Lorica
Every Vertigo boots outer is fully constructed with Lorica. Lorica
is a composite micro fiber material created from strands that are so
fine, each one is less than one thousandth the thickness of silk.
When injected with special resins, these fibers act like natural
leather skin, but with the addition of better strength, softer
texture, lighter weight and better moisture protection. Lorica is
also highly resistant to abrasion – yet it still breathes – with
more than three million pores per square centimeter. Easy to
maintain, Lorica doesn't stain and can't be scratched and offers,
reduced weight, more flexibility and more feel than leather racing
boots.

Comfort and Style
Sidi Sport was founded over 40 years ago by sports footwear icon,
Dino Signori. Dino, along with a small staff of enthusiasts, small
staff of enthusiasts, started by rethinking how trekking boots were
made,
then moved on to create the first rear entry ski boot. From there he
took the first steps in building what
is today the premier brand in bicycling-Sidi. Not being satisfied
with these more mainstream sports, in
his spare time, Dino dabbled in one of his country’s favorite sports
motorcycling! Not being one to mess around (the man to this day is a
dynamo), in 1969 Dino jumped into moto in a big way, he aligned
himself and Sidi with Italy’s motorcycle hero, Giacomo Agostini, who
helped Sidi advance road race footwear to new heights. At the same
time Dino signed up an outgoing Belgian, five time world champion
Joel Robert. Sidi created for Robert the world’s first purpose built
motocross boot. This boot was sold in the USA under the brand name
Full Bore that, at the time, was the premier aftermarket line in
this country.
In subsequent years, Dino’s son Daniele and daughter Rosella,
together with the Sidi design team, have created some of the most
groundbreaking designs in motorcycle footwear. The Royal off road
boot was the first boot to offer inner ankle protection, the TAE SRS
sole replacement system is still in use today as is the bullet proof
and we must say, perfect, cam-lock off road boot buckle system. Over
the past few years the hinged and exceptionally rigid Flex, Force
and now the exceptional Crossfire off road boot, the Vertebra sport
road boot and most recently the fantastic Vertigo series of sport
road boots have taken
the market by storm and Sidi’s competitors by surprise.
Motonation urges you to take the time to consider all the different
aspects of the various models of Sidi boots. These features will
help keep you safer when you ride and the fashion in which these
features are built into the boots will give you years of service.
These features and Sidi’s quality combine to create the finest
motorcycling footwear ever made… boots that make Dino (DI) Signori (SI)
proud. DISI…no, that does not have the right sound; let’s switch
those letters…SIDI! |
